We start with a free consultation where we discuss your needs and determine if my services align with your goals. This helps us assess whether we’re a good fit for working together and sets the stage for our potential collaboration.
If you choose to proceed, we’ll schedule our first session. During this meeting, I’ll conduct a comprehensive assessment to understand your background, concerns, goals, and expectations. I’ll also explain my approach and what I offer, and together we’ll define your specific goals and objectives. This step is crucial for ensuring we have a clear, shared vision and for building a strong, supportive relationship.
In this stage, we’ll solidify the goals and objectives we’ve identified. I’ll provide a detailed explanation of my approach and discuss various counselling options—short-term (6 to 12 weeks), medium-term (12 to 24 weeks), or long-term (ongoing). We’ll select the best option for you and review it as needed. We’ll also work together to create a plan for implementing new behaviours or modifying existing ones.
As we continue, I’ll engage you in open, honest conversations, offering a space where you feel heard, understood, and validated. This supportive environment is essential for your healing, empowerment, and confidence building. I will regularly assess your progress and, with your input, make necessary adjustments to your plan to best support your journey. We’ll explore your feelings, thoughts, and concerns, and develop effective coping strategies for managing stress, anxiety, depression, anger, and other emotional challenges.
The counselling process will end when you have achieved your goals, made sufficient progress, or decide to conclude it for any reason. It’s beneficial to plan the ending, so your final session will be used to reflect on your experience and discuss strategies for maintaining the skills you’ve learned.
You can also choose ongoing counselling for maintenance or prevention, with sessions available monthly, bi-monthly, or as often as you like.
